| some details about me: | I grew up in Oregon, which means I love coffee and anything outdoors: camping, hiking, skiing, Scuba diving. I love to travel and have been lucky enough to find work that allowed me to live overseas for a while. It took me to a few out-of-the-way places, like Iran, where I was once chased off a ski mountain by the morals police, and Syria when Hafez Al-Assad died. I still have a long list of travel destinations but I've been staying in Chicago for the last 18 months to enjoy the city and meet people. I love to read, Russian literature, Umberto Eco, pretty much any good writer. I meet friends for dinner often and have developed a few favorite spots. I love to cook I could go on) and to give dinner parties, though that doesn't seem to happen as often here as it did oveseas.
